Dr. K Sundara Saravanan
Assistant Professor
Dr. K. Sundara Saravanan is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Pharmacognosy at RUAS. In his overall 14 years of work experience, he has worked in the industry for 2 years and the remaining bulk in academia.
He primarily teaches Pharmacognosy & Phytochemistry, Herbal Drug Technology, Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, Advanced Pharmacognosy, Indian Systems of Medicine, and Industrial Pharmacognostical Technology. He also advises PG students on their theses. Dr. Saravanan obtained his Ph.D. degree (2011−2017) from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore.
He has presented a number of papers at international conferences and published several papers in national and international journals pertaining to pharmacognostical, phytochemical and pharmacological evaluation of herbal drugs. He has research interests on DNA fingerprinting studies, RAPD, and computational biology of natural products. He has also lent a hand in organizing various conferences/workshops
