Dr. Deepa is a dedicated Faculty with a passion for exploring the intricate connection between food, nutrition, and human health. Her research interest encompasses developing innovative food products that promote well-being and sustainability. Baking and development of gluten free baked products, Food Safety and quality control, Nutrition and dietetics, Food Analysis, community, and Sports nutrition

Dr. Deepa has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles in leading scientific journals, contributing valuable insights to the field of food science and nutrition. Her work has been recognized for its significance in Millet Processing and product development using edible waste fruits. 

As an Assistant Professor, Dr. Deepa is deeply committed to educating the next generation of food scientists and nutrition experts. She teaches courses such as Principles of food Science, Nutrition during life cycle, Nutrition in Health, and Fitness and actively mentors graduate students in their research endeavors.

  1. Experience working as Post-Doctoral Fellow on the project Food product development” specifically on pulse based dairy product development at the Department of Bio-resource Engineering, Faculty of Agricultural and Enivironmental Sciences, McGill University, Canada (6 Months).
  2. During Ph.D. I visited the Department of Bio-Resource Engineering, Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, McGill University, Canada as Visiting Scientist for Carrying out part of my research work (5 months)
