Sumayya T. is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at the School of Social Sciences, Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences. She specializes in social psychology and holds a PhD from IIT Delhi. Her research focuses on the psychosocial dimensions of inequality, identity, and power, particularly through the lived experiences of marginalized communities, with a special emphasis on women within those communities. Her doctoral work utilizes qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods approaches to explore the psychological processes underlying humiliation, resistance, and meaning-making within the intersecting structures of gender, religion, and caste. Sumayya has over five years of experience in undergraduate and postgraduate as a teaching assistant, along with practical field experience as a counseling psychologist. Her academic work is guided by a commitment to socially engaged research, inclusive pedagogy, and ethical psychological practice.
