Ms. Sobha G V is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Management and Commerce at Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, with over 13 years of academic experience spanning teaching, research and administration across diverse educational Institutions.
She pursued her PhD in Information Systems from National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli. During her doctoral journey, she has actively engaged in research alongside coordinated FDPs and Conferences and assisted in teaching activities. She also holds an MBA in Information Systems & HR as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science & Engineering.
Prior to joining the Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, she was working as a Research Associate at Ramiah Institute of Management, where she taught Management Information Systems (MIS), organized FDPs and coordinated International Conferences. Additionally, she has also contributed to various roles of academic and research assistance. Before pursuing her Ph.D., she worked as an Assistant Professor for 6 years in various institutions like Central University of Tamil Nadu, National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli and SCAD College of Engineering & Technology at Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu.
Ms. Sobha is a research enthusiast, with her research focuses on fake news detections and prevention in social media during disasters. Her broader research interest includes information systems design, classification problems, social media analytics, disaster/emergency management, behavior analysis on social media platforms, fraud detection, system design and development for differently abled individuals, and Blockchain technology. She has presented her work at multiple prestigious conferences hosted by Indian Institute of Management (IIMs) and published research papers in Scopus and ABDC indexed journals, as well as book chapters. She was awarded with UGC-NET in Lectureship in 2013 and UGC-NET for Assistant Professor in 2017.
