Dr. Ravikumar B.S holds the esteemed position of Assistant Professor and serves as the Head of the Department of Physics within the Faculty of Mathematical and Physical Sciences at MSRUAS. As an academic leader, Dr. Ravikumar B S plays a pivotal role in shaping the direction and fostering the academic excellence of the department.

Dr. Ravikumar B.S is a dedicated academic with a wealth of experience in both teaching and research. Since May 2017, he has served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at RUAS, bringing over 13 years of expertise to his role. His teaching portfolio spans a wide range of subjects, including Mathematical Methods of Physics, Quantum Mechanics, Nuclear and Particle Physics, Laser Physics and Wave Optics, Solid State Physics, Instrumentation and Experimental Physics, Physics of Semiconductor Devices, and Engineering Physics. Dr. Ravikumar B.S has actively mentored postgraduate and undergraduate students, guiding them through their research dissertation work in areas such as gas sensors, spectroscopy of luminescence, and optical studies. His commitment to teaching excellence was recognized when he received the Annual Exemplary Award in Teaching from RUAS in 2020.

With a Ph.D. from Tumakuru University, Dr. Ravikumar B.S brings a solid academic foundation to his research endeavors. His current focus lies in exploring hybrid materials for various applications, including gas sensing, photo detection, and hydrogen fuel. His work in this area has been further supported by securing a Seed Money Grant of 5,00,000/- from RUAS in March 2023, highlighting the significance and potential impact of his research pursuits.
