Dr. Priyanka K P is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Physics under the Faculty of Mathematical and Physical Sciences, RUAS. Since joining in 2018, she has also served as the Residential Hostel Warden of the RUAS Campus Hostel in Peenya, Bangalore for five years.

Beginning as a Research Fellow at the Nanoscience Research Centre, Nirmala College, Muvattupuzha, she then worked as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Physics, Sree Narayana College, Kannur for a few months. She completed her Ph.D. in Physics from Mangalore University (2018) in the field of Nanoscience and Technology and her Ph.D. thesis is entitled as "Synthesis, Properties and Applications of Pristine and Doped Nanotitania". She has acquired her Bachelor's degree in Physics from Kannur University, Kannur and Master's degree in Physics from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam.

As a serious researcher in the field of Nanoscience and Technology, she has published more than 36 publications in national and international peer-reviewed journals and more than 12 national and international conference presentations in her credit. Her research is mainly focused on applications of nanomaterials in various fields such as photocatalytic dye degradation, gas sensing properties, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal activities of nanoparticles, nanomaterials for energy storage and coating applications and in ecotoxicology and environmental effect of nanomaterials. At present, she is also working in the field of nanomaterials for the development of neuromorphic computing applications in collaboration with JNCASR, Bangalore. Recently she was awarded a patent titled "A process for Preparing Nanofibre Face Mask" and two funded projects (SERB-TARE and SEED Money Grant-RUAS) are running successfully under her credit. She is a reviewer of various international journals with high repute too. In recognition of her valuable contributions in teaching and research, she has been awarded "Faculty Achiever Award" and "Outstanding Professor of RUAS" by RUAS on the occasion of National Science Day, 2020 and Innovation Day 2023, respectively.
