Dr. Maya Pai M is currently working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Natural Sciences, RUAS since October 2024. Prior to that, she worked as Tutor at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Mathematical and Physical Sciences, RUAS since September 2014. Before joining RUAS, she worked in the capacity of a Senior Research Associate at Syngene International Limited (A BIOCON company) (2008 – 2013). She completed her Master’s degree in Applied Chemistry at Mangalore University in 2008 and PhD in Organic chemistry from RUAS in 2023. Her research interests include synthesis of mutistep organic synthesis of various molecules for pharmocological and energy applications. Her research papers published in national and international journals, and received German patent.

She has taught B,Tech- Engineering chemistry, B.Sc, B.Sc-Biotechnology and M.Sc Organic Chemistry. She has also been awarded with Faculty Achiever Award in RUAS Innovation Day in 2023 and best oral presentation award in International Conference on "New Materials for Industry and Medicine" in Jan 2024.
