Dr. Mallikarjunaiah Kodirampura Jayaramappa is an accomplished experimental spectroscopist with an emphasis on magnetic resonance techniques. Realising his childhood passion for teaching/ research and exposure to national and international institutions across the world (University of Arizona (USA), Indian Institute of Science..), he joined the Department of Physics at RUAS as an Assistant Professor in 2019. He conducts various courses for undergraduate and postgraduate and PhD students of different streams. Beginning with an undergraduate degree with truly interdisciplinary basic science subjects (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics), he expanded his educational accomplishments by acquiring several degrees that aligned with his fascination for practical experimental courses. As a consequence, he chose to study MSc (Spectroscopy), PhD (Physics) and Postdoc (Biophysics). He completed his Postdoctoral training in Biophysical Chemistry at the University of Arizona, Tucson, USA (2008 – 2013). As a postdoctoral researcher, he extended his field of study into biological systems with special focus on their biophysical properties. He has developed broad scientific skills in many key research areas with hands on experience as an independent researcher and working in a group. Through his continued endeavors, he aims to contribute towards addressing major concerns in the fields of energy, health, materials and engineering sciences through collaborations with institutions of international repute like Indian Institute of Science.
