Dr. Archan Mukhopadhyay serves as an Assistant Professor (P2) in the Department of Physics at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences. Before taking on this role, he was a SERB-National Postdoctoral Fellow at the Centre for Ecological Sciences, IISc Bangalore, where he led a project on the dynamical modeling of cell migration as the principal investigator. During his time at IISc Bangalore, Dr. Mukhopadhyay actively co-mentored M.Tech thesis students and interns. His experience also includes positions as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the School of Computer Science, University of Birmingham, UK, and at the Department of Psychiatry, NIMHANS Bangalore. Dr. Mukhopadhyay completed both his MSc and PhD from IIT Kanpur.

He has secured two notable grant awards, amounting to a total of 50 Lakhs: the SERB-NPDF Award for the 2023 call and the DBT-RA Award for Call-I, FY 2023-24. His research interests are diverse, spanning topics such as Nonlinear Dynamics, Evolutionary Game Theory, Chaos & Complexity, Network Science, Collective Behaviour, Applied Mathematics, Data-Driven Modelling, Quantum Games, and Stochastic Processes.
