Dr. Rashmi B. J. is Assistant Professor at Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences Bangalore, India. Before moving to India, she was a Senior Researcher at the Lille University, France. Dr. Rashmi has worked as Research Engineer at the Polymers and Composites Technology & Mechanical Engineering Department, Institut Mines-Télécom, Lille-Douai, France. Dr. Rashmi received Doctor of Philosophy in the year 2012 from University of Lille, France in Chemistry of Materials and finished M.Sc in Chemistry from Kuvempu University in the year 2006. Her research mainly focuses on Polymers, Polymer blends, Biopolymers, Nanocomposites. Particularly, reactive rotational molding, rheology, morphology and Structure-property relationships. Dr. Rashmi has published 16 research papers in peer-reviewed international journals and presented in a number of international conferences. Dr. Rashmi has visited more than 10 countries. She was also part of national and regional projects, programs with industries and European Projects (Horizon 2020, Hydrax and Interreg). She has successfully supervised 5 MS students. Dr. Rashmi is having very good knowledge in the preparations and applications of polymer nanocomposites. Presently working in the area of polymer nanocomposites with multifunctionality. Has expertise in design, synthesis, and functionalization of nanomaterials. Well versed with the fabrication and compounding techniques to design and develop polymer nanocomposites with the required morphology and properties. She has given invited talk on "Advanced Applications Using Reactive Rotational Molding And Melt Extrusion", International Conference on Advanced Material & Technology (ICMAT-20), 16-18 January 2020. Taught engineering chemistry for B.Tech, instrumental methods of analysis for MSc students, Chemistry of oils, fats, surfactants and coatings for MSc, Organic chemistry (shared) and bioinorganic chemistry for Msc and organic chemistry for BSc Biotechnology.
