Dr. B J Rashmi Prashantha

Assistant Professor

Dr B J Rashmi Prashanth has been an Assistant Professor at the Department of Chemistry, RUAS since September 2019. Her research mainly focuses on polymers, polymer blends, biopolymers and their nanocomposites. Her specific topics of study are reactive rotational moulding, rheology, morphology and structure-property relationships. Dr Rashmi has published 13 research papers in peer-reviewed international journals, presented at a number of international conferences. Having been invited to talk at international conferences, she has visited more than 10 countries. She has been a part of national and regional projects, programs with industries and European projects (Horizon 2020, Hydrax and Interreg). She has supervised undergraduate and postgraduate students.
She obtained her MSc (General Chemistry) from Kuvempu University and PhD (Material Science) (molécules et matière condensée) from Institut Mines-Telecom, IMT Lille-Douai in France. She did her postdoctoral research in Mines Douai, the Department of Polymers and Composites Technology and Mechanical Engineering on the development of organic conducting materials for thermocouple applications.
