Dr. Soujanya J Vastrad is a versatile pharmacy professional with experience spanning clinical practice, pharmacovigilance, pharmacology and computational research. Her professional journey reflects a combination of patient care, research, and teaching experiences across diverse healthcare settings.

She gained international clinical exposure during her tenure at Sangre Grande Hospital, Eastern Regional Health Authority, where she provided clinical pharmacy services within a hospital based healthcare setting. Her responsibilities included supporting oncology treatment regimens, managing medication related issues, assisting in infectious disease management, and promoting rational medication use. She contributed to antimicrobial stewardship initiatives, in alignment with the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), USA. She also served as a committee member contributing to the development of national clinical practice guidelines supported by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), gaining experience in evidence-based healthcare practices and guideline development.

Prior to her academic and research career, she worked as a Drug Safety Operations Specialist at Quintiles, where she gained experience in global pharmacovigilance operations supporting clinical research programs. Her responsibilities included safety case processing, regulatory reporting, clinical endpoint adjudication, and coordination with cross functional teams involved in drug safety activities.

Her research interests includes therapeutic drug target identification, computational modelling, clinical pharmacology and drug discovery. The research contributions have resulted in publications in peer-reviewed journals and academic book chapters. Her professional experience integrates clinical pharmacy, pharmacology and computational research, supporting evidence-based approaches in healthcare and therapeutic research.
