Dr. Sharmistha Rakshit is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Data Sciences and Analytics, School of Social Sciences, Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, Bangalore, India. Dr. Sharmistha has been actively engaged in teaching and research, contributing to the advancement of data-driven methodologies and their applications across diverse domains.

Dr. Sharmistha have completed her M.Sc. in Mathematics and Computing from the Indian Institute of Technology (ISM), Dhanbad with First Class and Distinction, and subsequently pursued Ph.D. in Mathematics from the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Kalyani. Her research primarily focuses on Solid Mechanics, with a special interest in the mathematical modelling and analysis of elastic wave propagation, vibration characteristics in smart materials and complex composite structures, and thermoelasticity theories. Through her work, Dr. Sharmistha aim to contribute to the understanding of advanced material behaviour under various physical conditions, which has potential applications in engineering, materials science, and applied mathematics.

With over 6 years of dedicated research experience and more than 4 years of teaching experience, she has developed a strong academic and professional foundation. Dr. Sharmistha has published six international research articles in reputed journals, reflecting her commitment to advancing knowledge. Beyond research, she is passionate about teaching and mentoring students, bridging theoretical mathematics with practical applications in mechanics and material sciences.
