Dr. Saraswathy G R is a highly esteemed academician with over 22 years of experience in teaching and research. She leads the Pharmacological Modelling and Simulation Centre (PMSC) at FPH, which focuses on Computer-Aided Drug Design and Discovery. Dr. Saraswathy has earned several accolades throughout her academic career, including the Women of Science award from RUAS. She was awarded the Tamil Nadu Pharmaceutical Sciences Welfare Trust scholarship for her postgraduate research and was ranked first in her Master of Pharmacy (Pharmacology) program in. She also received the Best Outgoing Student Award from K. M. College of Pharmacy. She is an active contributor to various academic committees, specializing in scientific writing, content development, pharmacovigilance, drug repurposing, and clinical research. As an accomplished speaker, Dr. Saraswathy has presented her work at various international conferences, including the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research in Tokyo and the Asian Conference on Pharmacoepidemiology in Brisbane. She has also conducted workshops on ECG interpretation and simulation models for healthcare professionals. In addition to her research and academic duties, Dr. Saraswathy has been involved in community-oriented initiatives, coordinating interdisciplinary programs that offer medical services to underserved villages. With a strong commitment to advancing pharmaceutical sciences and healthcare, Dr. Saraswathy continues to explore innovative research avenues and is dedicated to making substantial contributions to the field. Her academic and professional expertise, coupled with her leadership skills and passion for teaching, make her a significant contributor at RUAS.

  • Her research interests are broad and encompass areas such as Pharmacology, Toxicology, and Pharmacotherapeutics, with a particular focus on clinical research in cardiovascular, neuro-psychiatric, gastrointestinal, and endocrine disorders. Currently, Dr. Saraswathy is dedicated to drug repurposing research, especially in the context of neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. She has published over 50 research articles in renowned indexed journals with a cumulative Impact factor around 100.
