Dr. Nandana Narayana is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Ramaiah University College of Engineering (RUCE), a constituent college of M. S. Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences (RUAS), Bengaluru. She earned her Ph.D. in Wireless Communication from M. S. Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences in 2025. Her doctoral research focused on experimental investigations into Software Defined Radio (SDR)-based compressively sensed OFDM channel estimation, with particular emphasis on sparse recovery techniques for improving the reliability and spectral efficiency of advanced wireless communication systems. Her academic and research interests encompass wireless communication, software-defined radio, OFDM, compressive sensing and sparse recovery, VLSI system design, FPGA-based architectures, digital IC design, and hardware-oriented machine learning. Her scholarly contributions include publications in peer-reviewed journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science, complemented by experience in teaching, research, and laboratory instruction across key areas of electronics, communication, and VLSI engineering.

  • Academic experience includes teaching, research, and laboratory instruction in Digital Logic Design, Digital IC Design, Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA), Analog and Digital Electronics, Digital Signal Processing, and VLSI System Design.
  • Industry Exposure: Completed an internship at Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) in 2013, contributing to the project “Wireless Data Acquisition for Guided Missile Simulators.”

  • Research Interests: Wireless Communication; Software Defined Radio (SDR); Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM); Channel Estimation; Compressive Sensing and Sparse Recovery; VLSI System Design; FPGA-based System Design; Digital IC Design; and Machine Learning for VLSI and Hardware Architectures.
  • Technical Competencies: Working knowledge of C, C++, Verilog, and SystemVerilog, with experience in developing RTL architectures for applications involving machine learning, computer vision, and mathematical algorithms. Exposure to MATLAB and Simulink modelling; hands-on experience with Cadence Virtuoso, RC Encounter, Xilinx ISE, and Xilinx Vivado for IC and FPGA design; familiarity with PCB design and analysis using Cadence OrCAD and Allegro; and hands-on experience with LabVIEW.
  • Awards & Distinctions: Recognised as “Best Anchor” for hosting a college-level cultural fest and received appreciations for participation in academic, cultural, and social-service activities.
