Dr. R. Logesh is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacognosy at MS Ramaiah College of Pharmacy, MS Ramaiah Institute of Applied Science, Bangalore. He holds a B. Pharmacy and M. Pharmacy (Gold Medalist, Pharmacognosy) and a Ph.D. (ICMR-SRF) from JSS College of Pharmacy, Ooty, with a focus on natural product research and phytopharmacology targeting metabolic diseases. His experience covers both Academic and Industry. His research primarily explores plant-derived bioactives, focusing on metabolic and cardiovascular diseases, focusing on natural products (medicinal plants and marine algae’s) and their bioactives. His expertise also includes ethnopharmacology, network pharmacology (Systems biology), phytopharmacology, enzymes, molecular biology, functional studies, Digital Health, and Bibliometric analysis.

With over 30+ peer-reviewed publications (includes research, reviews, conference proceedings) with an h-index of 12, highlighting his few high-impact journals, which are Pharmacological Research, Biotechnology Advances, Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA)-Review on Cancer, Phytochemistry reviews, and Phytotherapy Research, he has significantly contributed to natural product drug discovery and nutraceutical research. He has authored multiple book chapters with international publishers such as Springer, Elsevier, and Taylor & Francis etc.

He has guided B. Pharm, M. Pharm, M.Sc. projects and MD students and received the prestigious ICMR-Senior Research Fellowship grant. His long-term vision is to bridge traditional medicine with modern pharmacology through translational research on natural products.
