Dr. Latharani T. R. is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, Bengaluru. She holds B.E., M.Tech. (Digital Electronics), and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science and Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi. With over 18 years of academic experience and research background, her interests span intrusion detection in wireless sensor networks, Smart IoT applications, Cybersecurity, AI in system security, machine learning, Generative AI and Agentic AI
She has published multiple papers in Scopus-indexed international journals, contributed to national conferences, and filed patents on innovative systems such as a secured IoT container for delivery systems and an economical third umpire solution for cricket. A dynamic academician, she has been invited as a resource person for technical talks and hands-on workshops, and actively contributes to curriculum development through roles such as course coordinator and BoE member for VTU Centre for Distance and Online Education, Mysuru.
Her initiatives in student development are evident through her curated YouTube channel featuring 46+ technical video lectures and organization of national-level hackathons, tech fests, and skill-based workshops. She has also been recognized as an Active SPOC by NPTEL and received multiple appreciation certificates for her coordination and outreach efforts bridging classroom knowledge with real-world applications.
