Dr. Rinki Sharma is presently working as Professor and Head, in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, Bangalore. She obtained her PhD from Coventry University, United Kingdom. She has over 19 years of work experience in industry, teaching and research. Apart from teaching and research she has held other vital positions at the Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, Bangalore. She has been granted 5 international patents (I European patent, 1 Japanese patent, 1 US patent, 1 Korean patent, 1 Chinese patent and 2 Indian Patents), has published 14 book chapters, and over 30 papers in reputed conferences and journals. She is the Senior Member of IEEE and Executive Committee Member of IEEE Sensors Council, Bangalore Section. She served as the Joint Secretary of IEEE Sensors Council, Bangalore Chapter during 2023-2024. She served as the Secretary for IEEE Standards Association for the WG P1951, standard for Discovering and Intent Sharing between Smart City Component Systems during 2020 - 2022. She has served in the Technical Program Committee and as Session Chair at various IEEE international conferences of repute. She was the organizing committee member of the Flagship Hackathon and Symposium ‘Go AI for Social Good’, organized by IEEE Bangalore Section and C-DAC Bangalore during July 2022. She has been the resource person for over 80 corporate trainings, seminars, workshops and invited talks in various organizations and institutes.  She received the ‘Jyeshtha Acharya Award’ at the Bharath Education Excellence Award 2024 by Dr. Budha Chandrashekar, COO of AICTE, on
