Dr. Damodar Nayak A is a versatile academician and passionate pre-clinical researcher with extensive experience in Pharmacology and Toxicology. Currently serving as Assistant Professor in Department of Pharmacology at Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, Bengaluru, he brings over eight years of impactful teaching, mentorship, and interdisciplinary research. His core research areas include cardiovascular energetics, neuro pharmacology and cancer biology. He also holds FELASA certification (Functions A–D) in Laboratory Animal Science, covering animal handling, experimental procedures, and ethical compliance.
Dr. Nayak has mentored several postgraduate and undergraduate research projects, many of which have received national recognition and awards. He has published several research articles in peer reviewed journals and has filed and granted patents. He has been resource person for various workshops and recipient of intramural and extramural research grants as PI & Co-PI. He has also been awarded with Annual Exemplary Teacher Award, Bharath Shiksha Ratan Award, Padma Vibhushan Prof. Udupi Ramachandra Rao Research Innovation Award, Faculty Achiever Award etc.,
Along with scientific outreach Dr. Damodar is also deeply committed to community service through his active roles as NSS Program Coordinator - RUAS, Advisor - Rotaract Club of RUAS. Under his leadership, NSS RUAS & Rotaract RUAS has implemented several impactful programs such as sapling drives, blood donation camps, cyber security awareness workshops, health camps, skill development initiatives, education drives to national-level cultural and social events. His efforts have mobilized volunteers across multiple social causes including public health, environmental sustainability, and digital literacy. With strong mentorship and dedication, he empowers civic responsibility and holistic student development of students.
