M.S. Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences focusses on quality research through its faculty members, doctoral research students, post graduate and under graduate students. Over past decade RUAS has made a mark in the society by undertaking complex research problems while making a difference in the lives of millions of people local, nationally and internationally. Having the name Applied Science in its name, RUAS has executed notable number of sponsored research projects which are of applied science in nature, that are relevant to Defense, Pharma, Medicine, Dental, Biotechnology, Manufacturing sectors.
Innovative, interdisciplinary research demands the breaking of barriers between different disciplines. RUAS provides such platform to execute inter disciplinary research works or research projects through its vibrant Schools/Faculties viz. Ramaiah Medical College, Faculty of Dental Sciences, Faculties of Pharmacy, Mathematical & Physical Sciences, Life & Allied Health Sciences, Engineering & Technology, Art & Design, Commerce & Management, Hospitality Management & Catering Technology, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Law and Social Sciences. The results of the research are visible in terms of high quality publications in peer reviewed journals, patents and execution of good number of research projects sponsored by various government agencies such as ICMR, DST, DBT, DRDO, and University Sponsoring body Gokula Education Foundation along with RUAS seed money grants. Research at RUAS is also driven by industrial consultancy, where faculty undertake several consultancy projects and execute with success.
RUAS research strategy aligns with thrust areas of National and Global Research, which are reflected in the already executed sponsored projects and ongoing research projects. The office of Research and Innovation supports its faculty by facilitating the needful in securing sponsored research grants, screening and awarding seed money grants, Screening & Selection of JRFs and SRFs. It is with pride to note that RUAS is providing UGC equivalent fellowship to the deserving research scholars. The rigorous peer review and monitoring of Ph.D. scholars is resulting into quality research outputs. RUAS has been recognized as best innovation university by KSURF and Diamond category in Innovation by QS-I GUAGE.
It is well known that “all work and no play” is not a good idea. Research Scholars are allowed to hard work and also enjoy themselves in cultural activities, sports and industrial visits. We treat research scholars as peers, in work and beyond. Alumni are important stakeholders to us. Through this, I convey them the message that “we are proud of you and would love to be in touch, do write to us and drop by whenever you can”. There are many different ways in which you can contribute to the betterment of our University. We look forward to your active participation in taking RUAS to the next level.
