Strategic Road Map
Office of Research is in the process of reorganizing its systems and support functions to make greater progress in the next 3 years.
In-depth analysis of progress so far, strengths and challenges as well as opportunities and resources, a strategic plan and road map is developed to step up research outputs of the university.
Current status, milestones as well as targets for the next 3 years is tabulated below:

*in addition, it was presented that 1-2 larger multidisciplinary institutional (DBT-Builder; DST-PURSE) grants should be focused to the tune of 15 Cr in the next 3 years.
Following processes and investments are part of the strategic plan to strengthening university research ecosystem and research outputs. Earnest efforts are underway in this direction.
Strengthening Office of Research infrastructure
- ERP systems for PhD programs
- Online tools for Research management
- Common Research Laboratory and Instrumentation Facility
Strengthening Faculties/ Schools/ Departments
- Define and develop thrust areas aligned with national and global SDGs
- Dedicated Seed funding and Intramural funding to strengthen in house research and preparation for extra-mural grants
- Supporting faculties in responding to the call for proposals (facilitate groups, ideation, proposal development, administrative support)
Capacity Building and Empowerment of teaching faculty
- Common Research Training Calendar for all faculties
- Multidisciplinary Research Colloquia to forge research groups
- Training and Strengthening the Faculty Coordinators (Research and PhD)
Regular reviews and monitoring from Office of Research
- Centralized (bi-annual) and decentralized review (quarterly)
- Streamlining and simplifying process for timely approvals and disbursal of funds
Strengthen PhD programs
- Amend PhD regulations to accommodate multidisciplinary nature of research and global best practices.
- Attract good students through defined thrust areas.
- Increase no of full time PhDs and JRF/SRF/PDF.
- Systematize PhD process and SOPs.
