Institutional Innovation Council
The University embraces Innovation ecosystem through four entities, viz., Academics, Research, Training & Lifelong Learning and Consultancy. RUAS has created Research Centers to facilitate multidisciplinary research and convert innovative ideas into technology demonstrations, patenting of ideas by encouraging RUAS Community to participate in National and International competitions. The University has filed 170+ Patents out of which 117 are Published with 13 International and 09 Indian Patents Awarded. More than 10 Technologies are transferred. Special emphasis is provided for the filing of Patents and Technology Transfer for the benefit of local society and mankind. RUAS encourages participation in Smart India Hackathons and other National Innovation initiatives.
A dedicated Technology Business Incubator is established to support novel ideas and start-ups with funding from MSME (GoI) and K-tech (GoK). The incubator nurtures creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship among Public at large as well as Student community. The Incubation Center is spread over 10,000 square feet and supported more than 10 Startups
RUAS is an active member of Institution Innovation Council (IIC) of MoE and categorized as ‘Band B’ institution (rank between 26-50) under ‘Private-Self-Financed Category’ of ARIIA 2020. For RUAS which embraces “Applied Brilliance and Thinking”, ARIIA is yet another national platform to show case its Philosophy through proactive involvement of Faculty and Students to support “Make in India” and “Athmanirbhar Bharath”. RUAS Innovation Center is setup to support the initiatives of IIC of MoE for encouraging Students and Faculty Members to develop innovative and creative ideas that are useful to Society
The Incubation Center provides necessary guidance through hands-on mentorship and co-working space for start-ups in IoT, Robotics, and Electronics System Design and Manufacturing. RUAS inspires and imbibes the needed introspection and reorientation to thrive and attain high quality research, innovation and ambience of entrepreneurship. The Incubator is committed for establishment and growth of technology businesses to meet the social obligations through transfer of knowledge leading to economic growth of our Communities.

- Academic Credits for Innovation Courses
- Seed Money for commercialization of novel ideas through Technology Development Fund
- Setting up Ramaiah Innovation Center for Health Care Technologies (RICH-Tech) for Bio-Medical Research
- Distinguished Scholars in Statutory Councils
- Creation of Advanced Learning Center to train Medical and Para-Medical Staff
- Initiation of projects under TIFAC-MSME Program for Technology development through Proof of Concepts
- Completion of 130 Sponsored R&D Projects
- Rs 17.65 Lakhs generated through licensing of Patents
- Trained 40,000+ Delegates in technology domains and executed 550+ consultancy projects in Defense, Technology and Healthcare Industry
In recognition to our Innovation Initiatives, the Karnataka State University Rating Framework (K-SURF) accorded twin-status to RUAS as the ‘Five-Star University’ and the ‘Best Innovation University’ in 2019. QS I-GAUGE Indian University Rating has awarded RUAS with ‘Diamond Rating in Innovation’ and ‘Gold Rating’ for the overall University.
