World IP Day Celebrations at MSRUAS

MS Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, Bangalore, celebrated World IP Day, with great splendor, on 10 May 2025. The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kuldeep Kumar Raina and the chief guest of the event, Dr. Gopichand Katragadda, Founder and CEO, Myelin Foundaries , felicitated over 133 inventors.

Faculty members from engineering and medical sciences, dental sciences, computer science, and culinary science were felicitated for over 50 patents granted in the period January 2024 to March 2025 from MSRUAS. A book of patents was released to commomerate this occasion. Prof. Raina emphasized the importance of inventions for the safety of the nations. A powerful factual speech delivered on the importance of documentation of ideas prior to patenting and finding a home for the ideas, via indigenous technology providers, was Dr. Katragadda’s message. The event conducted by the Office of Research and Innovation, had a novel design thinking workshop, using “Origami” to introduce and inculcate the importance of hands on prototyping of new ideas towards sustaining inventions in a continued manner. A renowned Origami expert, Ms. Roopika Sood kept the faculty engaged in a 3 h workshop that has designs leading to the novel inventions, as part of the IP day celebrations.
