World Heart Day 2022


World Heart Day is observed every year on September 29 with an objective to raise awareness about the rising concerns of heart health and cardiovascular diseases and ways to prevent and treat the same. This year Ramaiah International Centre for Public Health Innovations (RICPHI) organized ACE-CPR program in association with National Service Scheme (NSS) Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences (RUAS), Department of Cardiology, Ramaiah Medical College (RMC), Ramaiah College of Physiotherapy and Department of Allied Health Sciences, Faculty of Life & Allied Health Sciences, RUAS. The event was held in Auditorium of Faculty of Dental Sciences from 4.00 to 5.30 PM.

Besides interactive and informative sessions on healthy nutrition and lifestyle, physical activity and stress management for better heart health„ a novel e‑learning course on Basics of Preventive Cardiology” developed by RICPHI with RMC, was launched for community members, frontline workers and university students. Dr. Shalini C. Nooyi, Principal & Dean, RMC, who was the Chief Guest for the event, distributed prizes to winners of an E‑quiz on heart health, which was attempted by over 140 participants. The event, attended by nearly 250 participants, was managed by NSS student volunteers of RUAS under the able leadership of Mr. Damodar Nayak, Faculty (FPH) & Program Officer NSS.
