The philosophy of the BHM programme at FHMCT, RUAS is to offer a dynamic curriculum to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to excel in the hospitality industry while fostering professional commitment and upholding ethical standards. The programme focuses on a contemporary technological approach to hotel operations coupled with a strong foundation in management concepts. It also emphasises on proficiency in foreign languages, holistic personality development, and development of an inquiring mind.

FHMCT Classroom

FHMCT offers the following undergraduate and postgraduate programmes:

  • 4-year Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM) degree. In addition to the BHM degree, the faculty also offers
  • 3-year Vocational Degree in Culinary Operations (B.Voc).
  • 2-year MBA program with specialisation modules in ‘Hospitality Management’ (MBA-HM)
  • 1-year Post Graduate Diploma in Facility Management (PGDFM)

FHMCT follows an ‘Outcome-based Pedagogy’ approach placing a strong emphasis on defining clear learning outcomes and aligning all aspects of teaching and assessment to ensure that students attain specific skills, knowledge, and competencies during their academic journey. At FHMCT, students are given a chance to explore their interests, passions, and talents outside of the classroom by participating in extracurricular activities to acquire leadership, teamwork, time management, communication, and problem-solving skills. At FHMCT, learner-focused assessment methods are used to evaluate student learning. The needs, interests, and growth of the student are the core of the assessment process. Some of the features of the assessment process at FHMCT are personalized Learning, student involvement, varied assessment methods, and alignment with learning outcomes. Students are encouraged to take control of their learning, with meaningful self-assessment and reflection, and provide more comprehensive and personalized feedback.

At FHMCT, internships are an integral part of the curriculum providing the students with practical experience, skill development, career clarity, research, and networking opportunities. FHMCT has a formidable record of placement for their graduates with internship programmes, on-campus recruitment, alumni networks, workshops for resume building, interview preparation, career counseling, networking events, and entrepreneurship support. At FHMCT, research activities are part of the curriculum and students are given opportunities and resources for publishing research papers, and product and process development to contribute to the student’s personal, academic, and professional development. Research projects help students develop critical skills such as problem-solving, data analysis, information literacy, and the ability to think analytically and creatively. Research is considered a stepping stone to entrepreneurship and innovation

Under the Proctoral System, every student is assigned a faculty member as a Proctor. These proctors offer guidance, support, and encouragement to students, helping them as they progress along their academic journey. From the choice of electives to their academic performance, from attendance to meeting their credit requirements, students can approach these proctors with any and every query. Proctors also interact with parents/guardians and keep them updated on the progress of students. To ensure that they reap the benefits of the Proctored System, students are advised to be in regular contact with their Proctors.
