Assistant Professor

Dr. Golam Rabbani is an economist, his interests encompass teaching and research in development economics and applied microeconomics, with a focus on firm dynamics, labour markets, industrial economics, and the informal sector economics. His research delve into small firm transitions in the Indian manufacturing sector, highlighting the roles of finance, infrastructure, and labour regulations. He assumed the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at the School of Social Sciences in February 2024. Prior to this, he served as a Research Consultant at the United Nations University – World Institute for Development Economics Research (UNU-WIDER) under the supervision of Professor Kunal Sen, Director of UNU-WIDER, Helsinki, Finland. Additionally, he held a position as a Research Fellow (Post-doctoral Fellow) at the Centre for Sustainable Employment, Azim Premji University, Bengaluru.
