Dr A Mumtaj comes with a doctoral degree in Applied Research from the famed Gandhigram Rural Institute — Deemed University located in Dindugal, Tamil Nadu in the year 2007. An accomplished Academician with broad expertise in Planning, execution, documentation to evaluation in Education, Research and consultation. Dr A Mumtaj comes with 24 years of rich work expertise in varied fields of education. She has rich academic background with M.Sc Home Science Extension, M.A. English, M.Phil Research and Development, M.Ed Research in Education and Ph.D funded by DST, New Delhi under Young Scientist Scheme’. She is also certified in Counseling Psychology. She has also worked as a Young Scientist at Science and Society Division, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and Young Professional at Council for Advancement of People’s Action and Rural Technology(CAPART), Government of India. Her Publications include Research, Education, Experiential Learning and Child Development. Besides her Research Papers, awards and Project Evaluations, she has published a book on Impact of Micronutrient Malnutrition on Child Development – A Diagnostic Study”. She received two Gold Medals’ for Best Extension Worker (1999−2001) and Outstanding Performance in Culture and Arts (1999−2000). Twice awarded for meritorious performance at the National Inter-University Youth Parliament Competitions’ held during 1999 and 2000. She also holds NCC B’ and C’ certificates along with the Best Outgoing NCC Cadet of the college (1998).


Dr A Mumtaj, in the immediate past worked as a Senior Academic Consultant at the Premier Quality Assurance Agency of Government of India, ie National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bengaluru, from 2019 to 2023 for more than four and a half years. She has been at the helm of affairs and keenly involved in the quality framework of Data Validation and Verification (DVV), Open Distance Learning (ODL), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Participation in Training and Orienting DVV Partners, coordination in Manual Preparations, Bench Marking and a slew of other academic activities of the quality assurance agency as a full-time academic consultant. A clear vision, meticulous data management, interacting with cream of the Indian Academia at various forums, adhering to procedures with an eye for details, have enabled her accomplish goals with dynamism and a sense of purpose during her tenure at NAAC. She was very keenly involved in solving issues/​problems raised by Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) to NAAC by utilizing the Issue Management System (IMS) platform. It’s a virtual home-coming for Dr A Mumtaj at MSRUAS, since previously she worked as a Research Officer at Ramaiah College of Law, Bengaluru and was majorly involved in its successful accreditation of NAAC’s newly launched RAF methodology in the year 2018 – 19.
