On the account of International Women’s Day, on 23-03-2024 with the support from State NSS Cell, Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of Karnataka, Women’s Cell RUAS, NSS RUAS and Rotaract RUAS jointly organized State Level Workshop on Cyber Safe Girl – Beti Bachao Cyber Crime Se…. It was a comprehensive workshop curated for faculty and students across all discipline creating awareness on how to safeguard once self from online crime/​fraud.

Dr. Shalini Rajneesh I.A.S, Additional Chief Secretary to Government and Development Commissioner, Government of Karnataka graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Addressing the students and faculty members she emphasized on the raising incidents of online crime, various forms of exploitation, harassment, and cyberbullying. She also motivated young minds to understand the perils of internet browsing and the cyber laws associated to keep themselves and their loved one’s safe from such digital crimes.

Event had gracious presence of Dr. Prathap Lingaiah, State NSS officer, Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports, Government of Karnataka, Dr. Kuldeep Kumar Raina, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, Dr. Shalini Nooyi, Principal and Dean, Ramaiah Medical College as Guests of Honor. Dignitaries appreciated the Exemplary Student Contributors of NSS & Rotaract RUAS, Creator of Women Cell RUAS logo and Winners of event Baalya – Rejoice of Childhood Memories organized by Rotaract RUAS.

Resource person Dr. Ananth Prabhu Gurupur elaborated on the immense opportunities of the digital world, and also explained the risks that needs to be addressed collectively for a cyber safe environment for everyone. He also encouraged the participants to inculcate the superlative practices of responsible browsing, staying safe and secure from the cyber threats especially among the students, elderly and working professionals. Over 800 students from various universities were part of this brainstorming workshop.
