Hon’ble Chancellor of RUAS Dr. M. R. Jayaram has received a Honourary Doctorate from the University of Illinois, Chicago, USA on May 6^th, 2022. In a glittering ceremony at the University Stadium, the President of the University of Illinois System, Dr. Timothy Killeen presented the Degree of ​“Doctor of Humane Letters” to Dr. M. R. Jayaram in recognition of his valuable contribution to promoting higher education and health care services.

Dr. M. R. Jayaram was the only recipient of Honourary Doctorate in the 140^th Commencement Ceremony of the University of Illinois College of Medicine in which 317graduates were awarded degrees. The ceremony was witnessed by his family members, leaders, and academicians from across the world.
