About
Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Nursing is one among the six departments of RINER.
The department is equipped with the infrastructure required to learn the full spectrum of Obstetrics and Gynaecology nursing care for both the undergraduate and postgraduate students. The department provides student centred teaching and learning in a conducive atmosphere for hands on experience that helps the students to gain confidence in providing nursing care.
Highlights
- The department aims to impart knowledge and skill through quality education to prepare students to work independently in various health care settings as midwives
- Innovative teaching learning methods are incorporated into our regular classroom/clinical teaching. Simulation, concept maps, online modules, index cards, quiz etc. are used to promote critical thinking and enhance learning process
- Experienced faculty members are an added strength to the department. Every teacher in the department is trained in virtual/on-site simulation training organized by Indian Nursing Council (INC).
- Clinical training at Parent Hospitals and Government maternity hospitals
- Our laboratory is well equipped with models and mannequins to practice essential midwifery procedures. The students are also provided opportunities for self-study using ready reckoners/index cards for drugs, obstetrical instruments and SOPs of obstetrical emergencies.
- Students get opportunity to attend hands on workshops to improve clinical skills in caring antenatal and birthing women.
- Eminent experts from nursing and other health care professionals are regularly invited for Guest Lectures to keep our students updated about the trends in Obstetrics and gynaecological nursing.
