Electronics and Communication Engineering involves researching, designing, developing, and testing electronic equipment used in various systems.

doce-about

Electronics and Communication engineers also conceptualise and oversee the manufacturing of Communication and broadcast systems. Electronics and Communication Engineering lays greater emphasis on deep understanding of fundamental principles and state of the art knowledge about analog and digital electronics system, analog and digital signal processing, communication systems, RF, analog and digital transmission & reception of data, voice and video (Example AM, FM, DTH), microprocessors, satellite communication, microwave engineering, antennae and wave progression.

The curriculum ensures that students develop a strong foundation in the theoretical concepts of the discipline. This learning is complemented with rigorous practical training in the design and development of devices for various applications.

In addition to common core subjects, the Department offers a range of electives that help students sharpen their technical expertise and keep them up-to-date with innovations in the field of electronics and communication. A multidisciplinary approach is promoted and students are encouraged to collaborate with the departments of Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering and Civil Engineering on research projects.

PG and Ph. D students also undertake research projects at the University’s Techno Centre that give them a competitive edge over their peers. Additionally, students are pushed to take up value added courses, internships, and soft skills programs to contribute to their employability.

The Department has well-qualified and technically proficient faculty members with rich academic, industrial, and research experience. As dedicated teaching professionals, they channel their efforts to ensure the academic and professional success of all students. The outcome-based curriculum helps students to develop critical thinking abilities and imbibe relevant practical skills for a smooth transition from academics to real?life work environments.

Our Vision

To create, assimilate, disseminate and apply knowledge to develop globally competent graduates in Electronics, Communication and allied branches of engineering

Our Mission

The department of ECE strives to:

  • Assimilate and disseminate knowledge and skillset in the field of Electronics, Communication and allied branches of Engineering.
  • Nurture an ecosystem conducive to applied research.
  • Inculcate ethical values, leadership abilities and social responsibilities in students.

Quality Policy

Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of FET, Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences strives to achieve excellence by adhering to following Quality policies.

  • To accomplish excellence in Teaching, Research and Innovation meeting national and global standards
  • To nurture and develop research collaboration and consultancy with industry partners, enhance employability of student fraternity
  • To continuously monitor and improve our system considering valuable student and industry feedback

Highlights

Proctoral System

Under the Proctor System, every student is assigned a faculty member as a Proctor or a mentor.

These mentors offer guidance, support and encouragement to students, helping them as they progress along their academic journey. From the choice of electives to their academic performance, from attendance to meeting their credit requirements, students can approach these mentors with any and every query. Proctors also interact with parents/guardians and keep them updated on the progress of students. To ensure that they reap the benefits of the Proctoral System, students are advised to be in regular contact with their Proctors.

Minor Programme

An additional program in which students can pursue a study of choice alongside the main degree. Students can register for this in consultation with faculty. This program is for aspirational candidates. Our program offers Electric Vehicles as a minor program and is open to all the engineering students in RUAS.

Innovation Centre

At the Innovation Centre, students team up with faculty members to bring their innovative ideas to life. Ideas are assessed based on their relevance to and impact on society. These are then translated into working projects that are entered in national and international competitions, and for registration as patents.

A Semester Abroad

We offer a program in which students can register a semester in the final year with a partner university, where students can do an internship or a project.

Open Electives

Students can choose from a multitude of open electives across faculties for credits. These are specially designed courses which offer a basic introduction for a holistic development.
