The Pharmacy Practice Department is a vibrant and dynamic unit of Faculty of Pharmacy
It is oriented towards educating pharmacy students on various aspects of clinical pharmacy alongside offering hands-on training in areas such as pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics pharmacovigilance, drug utilization review, patient counselling, and answering drug information & poison information queries. This department is instrumental in delivering a better pharmaceutical care to patients by optimization of current therapeutic strategies, identification and prevention of medication-related problems, and thereby reinforcing positive patient outcomes. In addition to training pharmacy students, the department also conducts research on a wide array of clinical and community-based topics, for instance, medication safety, deprescribing, patient outcomes, and the impact of pharmaceutical services on overall healthcare management. The department plays a critical role in developing and implementing new clinical pharmacy services, and partakes in inter professional collaborations to improve patient care.
We encourage students to actively be a part of international research platforms such as the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR) and the International Society & International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology (ISPE).
