UG Lab
An undergraduate lab facility in the Department of Pharmacognosy is a specialized space where students studying pharmacognosy gain practical experience and hands-on training in the field of natural products.

The lab is equipped with necessary tools, equipment, and resources for the extraction, isolation, and characterization of natural compounds from medicinal plants, fungi, and other natural sources. Students learn techniques such as phytochemical screening, chromatography, and spectroscopy to identify and analyze bioactive constituents. The lab provides a platform for students to understand the principles of natural product chemistry, explore the therapeutic potential of natural compounds, and develop skills in drug discovery from natural sources.
It promotes critical thinking, scientific exploration, and the application of pharmacognosy principles in herbal medicine and drug development. The lab prepares students for careers in pharmaceutical research, herbal product development, and natural medicine industries.
