About Us
The Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology & Oral Microbiology was established in the year 1992 and has shown great progress since its inception.
The department provides the best academic training for under graduates and post graduates. It deals with excellent patient care offering a wide variety of services. It supports all the other 8 specialities of dentistry by providing laboratory facilities such as routine blood investigations, biopsy reporting in addition to few advanced diagnostic aids.
This facilitates definitive diagnosis of a wide range of abnormalities in the oral & maxillofacial region. The department is well known for its highly enthusiastic and research-oriented staff who have undertaken good research projects of translational value. The department is associated with the Oral Cancer Research Centre of the Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences to pursue multidisciplinary clinical and applied research in oral oncology and address the current challenges from local and global perspectives for providing an affordable treatment modality.
