At the Faculty of Art and Design (FAD), Students are shaped with knowledge, expertise, patience, and concentration.
FAD adopts a multipronged approach to design education. The comprehensive curriculum covers global best practices in design while also focussing on local application. Theoretical knowledge is rooted in classroom learning while studios and laboratories are used to translate the ideas to reality. Students are not only taught to solve the present-day problems, but they are also prepared to address futuristic needs.
For those students who wish to push the boundaries of dreaming and doing, widespread inspiration can be found everywhere in FAD, in nooks and corners of the university, in university facilities, and in every faculty member.
The four year Undergraduate programme offered leading to the B. Des., Degree in Product Design, Interaction design and two year Postgraduate programme offered leading to the M. Des., Degree in Product Design and Doctoral studies in Product Design.
The curriculum offered is outcome based and helps students to develop critical thinking, creative and innovative abilities and imbibe relevant practical skills for a smooth transition from academics to the actual work environment. Internship opportunities are provided for students to do their project in India or abroad depending on their preference.
At the Innovation Centre, students team up with faculty members to bring their innovative ideas to life. Ideas are assessed based on their relevance to?and impact on?society. These are then translated into working projects that are entered in national and international competitions, and for registration as patents.
