The Department of Computer Applications at M. S. Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences is offering programs such as Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), Master of Computer Applications (MCA) and doctoral program (Ph.D.).
The program structures are developed by the faculty members based on their teaching, research experience and long standing interactions with various universities and industries in India and abroad. As a part of RUAS, the Department of Computer Applications works to align its curriculum and programs with the vision of the University and the needs of society.
The Department’s programs are designed to address the requirements of industry, resolve the challenges faced in research, and ensure progress in fields of national importance.

Highlights
Proctoral System
“Proctors are the second parents at the Institute”. These mentors offer guidance, support and encouragement to students, helping them as they progress along their academic and professional journey.
From the choice of electives to their academic performance, from attendance to choose their career path, the students can approach the mentors. Proctors also interact with parents/guardians and keep them updated on the progress of the mentees. To ensure that they reap the benefits of the Proctor System, students are advised to be in regular contact with their Proctors.
Industry-Readiness
The courses of the BCA program ranges from fundamental computer applications through middle-level technologies to advanced technologies such as Data Analytics and Cyber Security. Moreove, the students need to complete the internship as part of their curriculum. The students of the MCA program will have the domain specific elective in three different tracks such as:
- Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
- Data Science and Analytics
- Cyber Security
This will enable the students at master level to equip themselves to select their domain of interest and to be ready in their chosen specialisation. The final semester for both the BCA and MCA program are meant for projects. The students of these programs need to complete the project in the industry of their choice.
