The Directorate for Training and Lifelong Learning (DTLL) is an important arm of the University’s vision to create a workforce that is industry ready. The Directorate is in alignment with the outcome based education principle that the University works on.

The primary focus of DTLL is to enhance the skills and knowledge of individuals and industries in various sectors such as engineering, product design, retail management, railway signalling, facilities management and finance amongst others. The directorate recognizes that in today's rapidly changing world, acquiring targeted skill sets is vital to remain competitive and relevant in the workforce.

The University through the Directorate for Training and Lifelong Learning has established partnerships with various industries and vocational training centres to ensure that the programs offered meet the specific needs of the respective sectors. Through these partnerships, DTLL is able to keep up with new trends and emerging technologies in various industries, and develop relevant courses and training programs that will enable individuals and companies to remain at the forefront of innovation.

Highlights

Directorate for Training and Lifelong Learning has trained over 16000 candidates through its various programs in the last 10 years. All programs are delivered by experienced in house faculty and DTLL acts as a liaising agency between individual students seeking training outside the knowledge core degrees offered by the University.

DTLL offers multiple types of programs ranging from 30 - 300 hour software and electronics certification courses for recent graduates who are looking for mastery in niche areas. They also offer a multiple entry, multiple exit Bachelor of Vocational Degree Programs through the various faculty in the areas of Product Design and Modelling, Culinary Operations, Mechatronics, Post-Harvest Technology and Retail Management. The alumni of these programs are well placed in companies like Bosch, Jaguar, Creative Synergies and other companies

DTLL through the faculty of electronics and electrical engineering offers an eleven month post graduate Diploma in Railway Signaling and Telecommunication as well as a post graduate Diploma in Facilities Management through the Faculty of Hospitality Management and Catering Technology. The alumni of these programs are well placed in companies like Alstom, Siemens, Tata Elxsi and other companies

For senior employees of industry, the University offers an upward mobility degree called User Oriented Post Graduate Programs, a customized M Tech program for industry that merges varied learning requirements of senior professionals across technical topics, finance and management. The same has been offered to employees of Bosch and BISS.

For corporates seeking training for their employees for a period of 1-5 days, the University through DTLL has offered Corporate Training Programs. The curriculum for the same is designed based on specific corporate requirements. This is a very successful program that has trained over 9000 delegates from over 50 Companies across India.

In addition to this, DTLL through the various faculty, offer skill training programs to increase employability across sectors. The defence forces have received specialized Cookery training for their mess staff.
