Dr Soumya Gupta joined the Department of Food technology, FLAHS, RUAS as an Assistant Professor in 2020. She has more than 5 years of teaching and research experience and is keen to pursue research in the areas of Adiposity, Body weight homeostasis, Personalized nutrition and Circadian metabolism. 

She is a trained nutritionist with academic degrees in BSc Hons (Food Sc. and Nutrition and Human Development) (2009) from Banasthali University, Rajasthan and MSc (Foods and Nutrition) (2011) from GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand. Further, she went on to acquire concrete understanding of Obesity and metabolic complications in her PhD, from GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand (2018). She was the recipient of UGC Junior and Senior research fellowship (2013); awardee of ICAR-Senior research fellowship (2013) and honored to attend prestigious Bangalore Boston Nutrition Collaborative’s (BBNC) International Course in Nutrition Research Methods at St. John’s Research Institute, Bangalore (2016).
