Professor Narayana Babu M has been associated with the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry under the Faculty of Pharmacy, RUAS since 2014. In addition, he is the Academic Registrar – FPH. In a distinguished career surpassing 3 decades, he has worked in various capacities in academics. Beginning as a Lecturer at Luqman college of Pharmacy, Kalburgi (1986 – 1987), St John’s Pharmacy College (1987 – 1988 & 1990 – 1993) and Oxford College of Pharmacy in Bangalore, he joined M. S. Ramaiah college of Pharmacy in 1993. He became an Assistant Professor in 1997 and later a Professor in 2005.

He holds a Master’s degree in Pharmacy along with a Professional Diploma in Clinical Research (PDCR). His research activities cover subjects like design, synthesis and biological evaluation of medicinal compounds especially containing β‑lactam ring with other heterocyclic moieties. Till date, he has authored as many as 21 publications and presentations.

Research Interest

Interest: Design, Synthesis and Biological Evaluation of medicinal compounds especially containing β‑lactam ring with other heterocyclic moieties.

Research Expertise

Design, synthesis of organic compounds using various techniques like microwave irradiation. Characterization of the synthesized compounds by UV, IR, Mass and NMR spectroscopy.
