Dr. Medha Y. Rao appointed RUAS as Dean Academics.

Dr. Medha Y. Rao is a graduate from Karnataka Medical College, Hubli, Karnataka and M.D. (Internal Medicine) from Bangalore Medical College. Dr Medha Y. Rao has also completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Health & Hospital Management. 

Dr. Medha Y. Rao is one of the longest serving teaching faculty of Ramaiah Medical College, she has completed 42 years in Ramaiah Medical College. As Professor of Medicine, she headed the department of Medicine. Before being appointed as Dean, Academic Affairs, RUAS, in August 2022, she was the Medical Director of Ramaiah Medical College and Hospital since 2011 and she was the Principal & Dean, Ramaiah Medical College, since November 2015. 

Dr. Medha Y. Rao has been a very popular teacher among Undergraduates and Postgraduates and is well known for her bedside clinical teaching focusing on ​‘Must Know’ for students. Her area of special interest is Geriatrics. Her research area includes studies in Geriatrics.

Dr. Medha Y. Rao is the member of International Advisory Board and is actively involved in reviews for Davidson’s Text Book of Medicine (Edition – 20, 21, 22, 23 and 24). She has two chapters in the case supplement of Davidson’s text related to geriatric issues (Edition – 20 and 21).
