Technology Product Incubation & Entrepreneurship Development Cell

M. S. Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences (MSRUAS), Bangalore has established a Technology Product Incubation and Entrepreneurship development Cell to encourage students and general public to participate in technology development and set up their own enterprises.

The Cell funds students, faculty and any citizen who has a bright technology idea and help them to realise a working prototype that can be patented and subsequently commercialised.


The Concept of the Cell is described as below:

Support for Entrepreneurial and Managerial Development of SMEs through Incubators’ scheme of MSME, Govt. of India

Through financial support from Ministry of MSME, MSRUAS would provide the means & resources – the wings and landing gear, to develop truly innovative technology ideas by entrepreneurs and mould them to take off as a micro or small industry, beneficial to the society.

The details of the scheme are given as below

Objective

The main objective of the scheme is to support entrepreneurship development while promoting emerging and knowledge based innovative technologies that seek the nurturing of ideas from professionals.


Who Can Apply

Any individual/MSE having innovative technology idea.


Can Students Apply:

The scheme supports faculty, students / ex-students of science and technology and entrepreneurs to try out their innovative ideas (processes and products) in the more advanced stages to carry forward the idea from its mere conception to ‘know-how’ and then to ‘do-how’ stage


Mode of operation:

PPP Mode (Public Private Partnership mode). The entrepreneur has to bear 15% or 25% of the total project cost depending on whether it is a micro or small enterprise.


Infrastructure:

In order to facilitate this, MSRUAS has put together in the incubation centre the infrastructure that these startups/entrepreneurs would need to develop their businesses which includes:

  • Internet connection
  • Telephone lines

If so desired by the incubatees, Business Incubator allows access to other departmental laboratories and other resources of MSRUAS, for their product development purposes on nominal charges
