M. S. Ramaiah College of Hotel Management established in 1993 has become a constituent faculty known as Faculty of Hospitality Management and Catering Technology of M.S. Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences (FHMCT-MSRUAS), a Private University established in Karnataka since the academic year 2014-15. The University is sponsored by the prestigious M.S. Ramaiah group of educational institutions known for its academic excellence and social commitment of creating responsible citizens with humane values. Situated in the heart of Bangalore the FHMCT- MSRUAS is renowned for its cosmopolitan culture, multilingual population and long tradition of hospitality management education.

Faculty Mission

The Faculty of Hospitality Management & Catering Technology at MSRUAS aims to deliver competency based hospitality and management education with inter & multidisciplinary approach adopting global educational practices with emphasis on development of critical, analytical and problem solving abilities in its graduates and associates with a passion for lifelong learning and independent thinking. The Faculty would encourage creation of new ideas and concepts to meet the ever-growing needs of hospitality sector.

The hospitality industry encompasses a diversity of fields within the service industry such as hotels, resorts, restaurants, event planning, theme parks, facility management and others from the tourism industry. Hospitality Management not only concerns accommodation and food and beverage services but also covers areas like meetings and events, gaming, entertainment and recreation and tourism services. In such a broad based industry, career opportunities are extensive. As the hotel and hospitality industry moves increasingly from a skill-based to a knowledge based industry, higher learning has become increasingly critical to opening career doors and helping managers to be more fully attuned to the culture, services and competitive aspects of the sector.

Hospitality Management is a vibrant, challenging and exotic career. Graduates can find employment in hotels, restaurants, convention centres, casinos and special event management companies. Hence this program is ideal for people who are mobile and free spirited and eager for new experiences and cultures. The Hospitality Management Program delves into international hotel operations management, technological applications in hospitality management and large scale services management, as well as small business operations.
