Mr. Safdar Hussain, Mr. Abdul Amir Sohel, Mr. Anup Simeon, Mr. Beenish and Mr. Humaira Ali - Students of M.Tech in Civil Structural Design, Transportation Engineering and Construction Engineering Management from Dept. of Civil Engg., FET won the “Second Best Paper Award” for the Group Project entitled “Wind Turbine for Power Generation and Storage by Vehicular Movement on Highways with IoT. The Event was organised by Bearys Knowledge Campus, Innoli, Mangalore during 6-8 August 2020. The project and presentation were mentored by Dr. Nayana N. A B.Tech. Project titled “OpenThread Based Mesh Enabled IoT Smart Device Cluster for Health Monitoring of the Elderly in Old Age Homes” has been selected to the IEEE YESIST12 Finale under the track Makerfair 2020. The project was executed under the supervision of Asst Prof. Ambresh G. Biradar by a group of enthusiastic students namely Mr. Samarth S. Kulkarni , Mr. Ameya Maheshwari, Mr. Katam Venkatesh and Mr. Shubhang Johari. Dr. Aishwarya Sridhar student of FDS received 'Best Student Project for Health' Award in competition sponsored by ECFMG and FAIMER held on 21 May 2020 for the project titled 'Smile Bright with Habits Right- Every Child Deserves It 'under School Oral Health Programme under the guidance by Dr. K. Pushpanjali, HoD – Dept. of Public Health Dentistry. Dr. Aishwarya is also invited for an Oral Presentation in the Annual Conference of The Network-towards Unity for Health (TUFH) to be held during September 23 to 25, 2020 at Mexico City.

Mr. Aditya Arnold - MBA second year student attended the International Leadership Conference on "Sustainability Challenges in the Emerging Social and Business Landscape", organized by St. Joseph’s Institute of Management during 24-25 January 2020. The Student secured “FIRST” place in paper presentation and won the “BEST PAPER” award for the Research topic entitled “A Comparative study on the usage of solar Renewable Energy and Conventional Energy in Domestic Houses” under the guidance of Asst. Professor Mrs. Geetanjali Pawar.
Mr. Pranesh Chandrashekar – Ph.D. Scholars was selected for AWSAR award as one of the top 100 stories under PhD category of Augmenting Writing Skills for Articulating Research (AWSAR) for the article entitled "Techniques Based on Darwin's theory of Natural Selection for Designing Wing Geometries for Micro-Air Vehicle Applications".
Mr. Aditya Jayaprakash of MBA- Hospitality Management, RUAS was presented a paper and received Best Paper Award for the research titled “Strategic Value Creation by Web 2.0 through Virtual Reality in Travel and Tourism Industry in India” in Student Category at PES university HETCON-2020 conference held on 13th March 2020. Ms. Sasipriya, II M.Pharm Pharmaceutical chemistry student of Faculty of Pharmacy, RUAS has won the 1st prize for her oral presentation on "Preparation and evaluation of Omega rich Fatty acid Powder from Natural Source - VEGAN - 3" in the "International Conference on Nutraceuticals, Herbal supplements and Nano formulations" conducted by Wuhan University, Republic of China and Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala. Presentation was adjusted as an unique presentation by the judges (both Indian and overseas) since "fish and fish oil" are the main source for "Omega rich Fatty acid" used in the nutraceutical formulations universally whereas Ms. Sasipriya under the guidance of Dr. R. Gowri, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Pharmacognosy has formulated a "Vegan" nutraceutical preparation rich in omega rich fatty acids using flax seed, chia seed, soya bean seed powder etc.

Govt. of Karnataka’s “Karnataka Science and Technology Academy” Conducted its 11th Annual Conference in Association with NMKRV College for Women during February 2019 having the theme “New Vistas in Science and Technology for Common Good”. The research work is supervised by Dr. Anantharamaiah P.N., Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Mathematical and Physical Sciences,RUAS.
Three faculty members and 10 Pharm D students from the Dept. of Pharmacy Practice of FPH, RUAS presented 20 Scientific Abstracts at the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR) Conference on Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) at Tokyo, Japan during 8-11 September 2018. This Conference was attended by more than 3,000 delegates from the Asia Pacific region. In particular, 1,500 posters were presented and nearly 100 podium research findings were presented. The abstracts of these presentations are indexed at Value in Health Journal (Pubmed, Impact Factor: 5.5).

Ms. Doorva Bhat – a Pharm D Intern from the Department of Pharmacy Practice, FPH won the “Best Poster Presentation Award” for the topic: “Perception of Men regarding the Nutrition related Aspects on Iron Deficiency Anemia: An Unexplored Domain”. The conference was attended by students and research scholars from the various Asian countries. In addition, Faculty members from the Dept. of Pharmacognosy and students from the Dept. of Pharmacy Practice, FPH, RUAS participated and presented posters in this International event.
The “Best Faculty Speaker” and “Best Student Speaker” was awarded to the Faculty member and the PG Student of Faculty of Dental Sciences, RUAS Bengaluru at the 24th Indian Society of Oral Implantologists (ISOI) National Conference held during 21-24 September 2017 at Bengaluru.
In particular, the “Best Student Speaker” award was won by Dr. Alisha Vincent, PG Student, Department of Oral Implantology, Faculty of Dental Sciences for the presentation titled “Enhancing Emergence Profile and Eliminating Black Tri angles in Implant Dentistry”. Students of Faculty of Art and Design participated in 'Furore', an intercollege fest hosted by Dayanand Sagar University on Friday, 31 March 2017. Our students bagged 1st and 2nd prize in painting competition. The event was named “No Idea” and the theme was Fantasy or SciFi. There were two members in each team and the duration of the contest was 2 hours. In the first hour one member of the team had to paint on the theme and in the second hour the other member had to continue the painting work started by the first member. Team members were not allowed to discuss during the competition. B.Tech.-CSE students have won the second prize in IoT and Hacking Tricks Workshop conducted at Rajarajeshwari College of Engineering on 23rd and 24th March 2017. They have been selected to participate in the finals at IIT Delhi during the International Technical Championship, 2017. Mr. Sachin V. and Mr. Manoj Kulkarni students of Faculty of Engineering and Technology(FET) M.Tech. Automotive Product Design(APD) won the first and second place in PACE PUMA Design Competition held on February 2017. Students were competing with various design Universities to meet the Personal Urban Mobility Access challenge (PUMA). Totally 8 designer submitted their design for this competition. As a winning designers, winning students are invited to participate with Team5 and bring the concept to the next phase of the project which will be presented at the PACE Forum in Toluca, Mexico in July 2017.
Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences (RUAS) proudly announces the selection of one of the Masters’ Dissertation from Faculty of Engineering and Technology for the Gandhian Young Technological Innovation (GYTI) Awards – 2017 held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi. The project titled “Enhancement of Distribution System Performance HVAC Boost Converter and Fuzzy Controller” was executed by Ms. Anusha Vadde and supervised by Mr. V.S.N. Sitaram Gupta. The Chairperson, Research Advisory Committee, SRISTI and NIF, Dr. R.A. Mashelkar, was present at the GYTI - 2017 Awards function along with other dignitaries like Prof. Anil Gupta from IIM - Ahmedabad etc. Out of 2715 nominations across 54 categories for GYTI – 2017 Awards, this project was one among the 39 shortlisted innovations showcased at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi. MSRUAS congratulates 3rd year BDS students Ms. Yashaswi Krishnamurthy and Mr. Fahim Ahmed for having won the prestigious All India Poster Competition organized by AIIMS, Delhi. Out of 700 posters received from all over India our students have secured 1st Prize in the All India Poster Competition. Dr. Timsi Gupta, MDS student of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics has won 3rd prize in Slogan Competition “Health Mouth is the seed we sow, For our body to glow!!!!” World Oral Health Day 2016 aims to get everyone to recognize the impact their oral health has on overall physical health and wellbeing. This year Centre for Dental Education & Research, AIIMS, New Delhi (National Centre of Excellence for Implementation of National Oral Health Programme) conducted a poster/slogan competition to inspire every citizen of India to promote oral health. The entries received on mygov.in were shortlisted and then evaluated by an expert panel.
Lt. Col. Nixon Harnal, 2nd year student of Master in Hospital Administration (MHA) has been awarded with Institute of Research and Journals (IRAJ) Excellent Paper Award for the Paper titled “A Study to Evaluate the Preparedness of 75 Bedded Neuro Care Tertiary Hospital to be Accredited by the NABH” for the category Best Presentation/Best Content at the 29th IRF International Conference held in Bengaluru on 24th July 2016.
Mr. Sundar R. K., 2nd year MBA student participated in Singapore 15th International Conference on “Business, Economics, Social Sciences & Humanities (BESSH2016) on 25th & 26th June 2016 held at Grand Pacific Hotel, Singapore. He presented a research paper titled “Social Media Strategy Framework for Luxury Fashion Brands which was declared the Best Paper. MSRUAS congratulates Mr. Sundar on this achievement.
Mr. Bhagvanji Sonagra our Alumni with a Masters in Product Design has again won an award, this time the India Design Mark 2016 award for two products designed: 1) Wax Injection Press (Machine tool design) 2) Whole Body Phototherapy Machine - (Medical Product). India Design Mark is granted by India Design Council-an autonomous body established by the government of India, functioning under the aegis of Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion, Ministry of Commerce & Industry.
FET students from MSRUAS participated in the Open Day competitions “Fun Filled Engineering” organized by Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore on 5th March 2016. In the event Mechathlon – A test on Fundamentals with trivial materials, Mr T M Seshagopalan and Mr Vinayak Pai, B Tech (Mech.) 4th semester students were the Runners. 20 teams participated from various Universities/Colleges in this event. In Egg’ chute- Save the eggs from free fall using your creative ideas, out of 16 teams only four teams Egg ‘chute landed successfully and the team from MSRUAS was one among them. Mr. Suraj, Mr. Adeeb Delvi (Civil), and Mr. Ashish (EEE) got special appreciation for the innovations in design.

Mr. Bhagvanji Sonagra has won an iF Design Award, Germany 2016 for a Medical Product in the Discipline Professional Concept Category. iF Product Design Award is considered to be one of the most coveted International Design award sometimes considered as the Oscar of Design Awards. Mr. Bhagvanji Sonagra is an Alumni of MSRUAS and has completed his Master in Product Design from Faculty of Art and Design. MSRUAS extends a hearty congratulation on his success.
Mr. Parasuraman Kannan, Masters’ Student of Product Design has won the top prize at a national level design competition - The Battle of Design Projects competition in Product Design as part of the PUNE DESIGN FESTIVAL 2015 where students from various design schools from all over the country had participated. Mr. Parasuraman was felicitated on the 7th of February with the award for his project - “Easy Walker- An Ambulatory Aid for Physiotherapy Patients Undergoing Rehabilitation”
Mr. Pravardhan V. of 1st semester Mechanical Engineering branch of our University Participated in “TOURCHLISTA FESTIVAL” inter collegiate PHOTOGRAPHY competition held at PESIT South campus, Bengaluru on 19 October 2014. The topic Of the Photography theme was diversity There were competitors from 15 prestigious colleges. He secured 2nd position in the competition.
An essay competition with the WHO theme of “Raise Tobacco Tax, Lower Death and Disease” for postgraduate students of Faculty of Dental Sciences, MSRUAS was organized. An overwhelming participation by 60 postgraduates was witnessed and cash prizes were awarded to 3 best essays. Triumphant students of Faculty of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Bangalore, came romping home gleefully as they were declared OVERALL WINNERS at the Technical Fest held at KLE College. The fest had events that required creative use of material in novel ways and special accolades are due to each student as each one exhibited a rare talent in creativity and innovation. The winners were Anand ( Bakery art) , Sreesudha (Linen Art), Moksha ( Best from Waste) , Heena Khan (Vegetable Carving ) and Rohan and Shelley ( The Quiz ).
The project was exhibited at the I3 National Fair conducted at IIT – Delhi by CII, DST and Agilent Technologies.
Almost 1000 projects were enrolled and 52 projects were short listed for National Fair. The top 5 innovations were given awards by CII, DST and Agilent Technologies. Young Indians Next Practices award was given to the top 3 young innovators by Young Indians.
This project exhibited by Kishore Rajendran, Preetham Shankpal and Santosh R won third prize in the I3 National Fair – 2010. The inventors also received third prize in Young Indians Next Practices award category. The project is one among the 10 innovations that have been selected for mentorship by the CII for further development and commercialization.
A Biomedical device to measure the Pulse Wave Velocity relating to arterial health was developed at the Center for Biomedical Engineering at M S Ramaiah School of Advanced Studies. The device is a non-invasive PC based system to diagnose arterial blocks using pulse measurements obtained from peripheral arterial sites.
Mr. Jagan of Student of Product Design Won 2nd PRIZE (Rs.75000/-) for Honey Extractor at a nation-wide India Innovation Initiative (i3) competition of technology-based ideas conducted by Government of India (DST) and CII.

India Innovation Initiative : Following are the postgraduate engineering students of (FT-07 batch) shortlisted for the India Innovation Initiative -i3, these students would be exhibiting their projects (final year projects at MSRSAS) at the National Fair organized by CII, Department of Science & Technology-Government of India & Agilent Technologies on 27th October 2009 at Nalanda Grounds, IIT, New Delhi.
Projects were selected in the 1st level of screening, out of 250 projects received from all over India, 50 have been shortlisted, and in that 11 projects are from MSRSAS.

Wright design competition :Congratulations to Raunak (AE, FT 09) and his team. In the recently concluded “Wright design Competition” (Shaastra, IIT-Madras), Raunak Santosh’s team won the prize for the best design and in the overall performance, their team was placed second.
