Mission of the Research Centre We pursue research on advanced technologies for the power generation using non-conventional and renewable energy sources, as well as performance improvement of the electrochemical energy storage devices and fuel cells
Research Goals of the Centre
  • To propose improvements for the existing non-conventional and renewable energy generation technologies such as bio-fuels, solar and wind energy meeting the requirements of affordability and sustainability
  • To develop a bio-reactor system to produce bio-fules such as biodiesel, biogas and a dry fuel using nontoxic photosynthetic algae
  • To design and implement the extraction of biofuels from tree seeds and algae to meet the requirements of aviation grade fuel
  • To pursue research on sustainable production of ethanol from cellulose based raw materials
  • To model, simulate and analyse the application of a inorganic/ organometallic material chemistry and coordination chemistry to improve the performance of electrochemical energy storage devices
  • To design and develop compact fuel cells using the membrane based humidifier
  • To undertake research for exploring the production of hydrogen from renewable sources like solar and wind energy
  • To transfer technologies developed for commercialization and entrepreneurship
  • To dessiminate knowledge on battery and bio-fuel technologies and advancements
